The Works Progress Administration program was created May 6th, 1935 is an organization that was the largest and most ambitious American New Deal Agency. It employed millions of unemployed people, mostly unskilled men to carry out public works projects, including the construction and roads. The WPA (Works Progress Administration) employed musicians, artists, writers, actors and directors in large arts, drama, media, and literary projects.
What is our purpose?
The WPA purpose is to provide paid jobs for 3 million unemployed men and women and have the live in a stable type of atmosphere and support their families. The goal was to end the depression or at least get rid of its worsts effects it had on people. The Works Progress Administration provided jobs for eight years for the unemployed men and women.
Where will our program be used?
Our program will be used in every state of America. We want to ensure that we employ as many unemployed people on relief as we possibly can until the economy recovers. We want our program to be easy acess to any unemployed citizen looking for work. For this reason we would like every state in the U.S to have a WPA. This would also ensure that people do not have to move out of their state in order to find work.
How will we achieve our goal?
The community around us always needs improvement, whether more roads need to be constructed, more schools, hospitals, banks etc. need to be built there is always someone who needs to do the job and with unemployment rates being so high we are giving people the opportunity to work and earn a living. This will eventually lead to us achieving our goal by reducing the percent of unemployment in America.
